About:

Sylvia Dixon is a dynamic leader whose career spans military service, financial services, coaching, and community advocacy. As a Vendor Support Specialist at Spring Oaks Capital, she specializes in optimizing vendor relationships and enhancing operational efficiency. In parallel, she channels her passion for empowerment through IAAM Consulting, where she serves as a Life and Mindset Coach, guiding women to unlock their potential through coaching, workshops, and speaking engagements.

Rooted in resilience and purpose, Sylvia’s journey began on a working farm in South Carolina, where she cultivated a strong work ethic and deep respect for the land. She proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Operations Specialist during Desert Shield and Desert Storm, embracing the values of dedication, teamwork, and duty.

After her military service, Sylvia’s professional trajectory took her from collections at Household Recovery Services into the mortgage industry. In 1999, she became a Loan Officer and rapidly advanced to Senior Branch Manager, leading one of the nation’s top-performing branches—and notably, the only one led by a woman at the time.

Following the 2008 financial crisis, she returned to the collections industry with Portfolio Recovery Associates for over a decade before transitioning to her current corporate role. Alongside her corporate achievements, Sylvia founded and teaches a professional development initiative at Spring Oaks called “Level Up: A Lunch & Learn Series.” Through this program, she equips employees with the polish and skill set needed to reach the next level of their careers. With deep authenticity, she shares personal lessons learned—from conflict resolution and emotional intelligence to building trust in the workplace—empowering others to grow without repeating the same mistakes.

Beyond the boardroom, Sylvia lives her mission of service as a Life Skills Facilitator for a nonprofit transitional home supporting single women overcoming homelessness. She teaches essential tools for self-sufficiency and renewed hope.

A devoted wife to her husband Garlan for nearly 37 years, proud mother of four, and doting grandmother of three, Sylvia’s personal life reflects the same depth and warmth she brings to her work. When she’s not mentoring others, you’ll find her tending her garden, reading on her patio, or teaching urban youth about food growth and nutrition—nurturing new life in every sense of the word.
